Consider the following statement very carefully: Maybe the estrogen
dilemma is a result of the wrong issue being studied. Most of the
studies conducted are concerned with the issue of menopausal age women
taking estrogen. However, menopausal women are approximately 51 and, as
a result of the age factor, women could already be predisposed to a
disease as a result of age, hereditary factors and/or lifestyle
preferences. That being the case, how accurate can the conclusions of
any study be based on that particular age group? Conclusions could be
entirely different ─ if younger women were studied!
Reiterating, new research indicates that the tests conducted in the
past may have missed the target! Recently a new study was conducted in
the opposite direction ─ women who lost their estrogen as a result of
having their ovaries surgically removed. The study involved 29,380 women
and 16,345 of them had a hysterectomy including the removal of their
ovaries. The remaining 13,035 women had a hysterectomy but kept their
ovaries. The results revealed that women who had their ovaries removed
were at a higher risk of death from all causes (heart disease, lung
cancer, stroke, and all cancers) as a result of loss of estrogen. Very
importantly, the study found that women who were younger than 50 at the
time of surgery were at a significantly greater risk of death from all
causes. The study also referenced the fact that estrogen and androgens
keep the heart, bones and blood vessels healthily. The study also
admitted that the protective effects of estrogen have been known for
decades but that no researchers had investigated the connection until
this study. This important information informs me that estrogen is
essential to a woman's overall general health.
As a result of this new information, a very concerning question arises
which is ─ what if the issue of not having estrogen is actually
more
harmful than the issue of taking estrogen for the shortest time at the
lowest dosage? Which side is more advantageous for a woman's lifelong
health?
These are very important medical facts. Think and research them carefully because as of today, other than the one new study mentioned above, only one-half of the problem has been studied! |
